Good morning everyone ! Most of you may know, but Bridget Branum and her husband Jamie are foster parents in Madison County. Have you ever thought about becoming a foster parent? Well, let me share these alarming statistics with you. Maybe you will take the leap of faith and become a foster parent. And it is a LEAP of faith!
This information comes from Madison County DHR. There are over 500,000 children in foster care in the USA. 6,000 children in care in Alabama alone! 500 are in Madison county, yet there are just over 200 foster families to care for these children in Madison County. The good news is that there have been over 40 inquires via the internet on becoming a foster parent for Madison County since the beginning of summer. So, more foster parents are joining the system everyday. The system is bringing kids in faster than they can return them home to their families.
